It’s the beginning of a new year.  I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  As we closed out 2017, it was time to reflect on the past year and what was accomplished and any goals starting out for 2018.  As we reflect on 2017, America’s Boating Club – Evansville Bend accomplished a lot for boating education and making the boating experience safer.  I want to extend a big thank you to those who volunteered their time to teach classes and perform vessel safety checks.  We have a great team!  Thank you! As we ended the year, Club members enjoyed a good time at the Christmas dinner at Kennel Club.  Lea and I hated to miss it. We were enjoying time on the water.  We left on a river cruise from Budapest, Hungary and made stops in Bratislava, Slovak Republic; Vienna, Durnstein, Melk and Linz Austria; and disembarked in Passau, Germany.  We did a side trip to Czechoslovakia and spent 2 days in Munich, Germany.  We certainly had a good time but also missed seeing everyone at the dinner. As we enter 2018, the Bridge is working on a slate for 2018/2019. If you have interest in a more active role in our Club, we very much want your participation and leadership.  Please call me at (812) 428-648 or cell (812) 453-4652 or email to let me know as soon as possible. Also, give thought to any water related classes you’d like taught in 2018 and let me know that information as well. I hope to see you at our meeting on the January 17, 2018 at Red Lobster!
