Evansville Bend Power Squadron offers a Boating Class FREE* every year in March for 4 weeks. This year the course will be conducted on March 11, 18, 25 and April 1st. The class is taught for 3 weeks with the exam on the 4th week.The class is conducted on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm. It is also offered periodically at other times if there is enough interest.
There is NO charge for the class: however, the manual is $18.00. Several family members can use one manual. The classes are taught by trained Evansville Bend members. The classes are conducted at St. Mark's Church, 2300 Washington Avenue, (1/2 block West of Washington Avenue and Boeke Avenue - Evansville, IN) Click here for more information about the America's Boating Course on the USPS website. Most insurance companies offer a discount on marine insurance for those completing the class and passing the exam. The percent of discount varies by company. Normally, it is in the range of 5 to 10%.
